What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you visit a site. Some are necessary for it to work; others measure audience and are only set with your consent.

Consent (Consent Mode)

By default, no analytics tracker is active: consent mode is initialised to "denied" until you make a choice. Consent-based trackers only fire after you accept.

Consent is collected via a banner shown on your first visit ("Accept" / "Decline"). Your choice is stored locally in your browser (local storage, key "drfaten_consent_v1"), not in a cookie; you can change it at any time (see "Manage your preferences").

Cookies and services used

• Google Analytics 4 (GA4): analytics. Set only after consent. Purpose: traffic statistics.
• Contact form (self-hosted server, EU): sets no cookie; processes the data you enter to route your request.
• Google reCAPTCHA: anti-spam protection. May set technical cookies required for the anti-bot check on form submission.
• "_ga" cookie (set by Google Analytics): lifetime about 13 months, used to distinguish visitors. Set only after consent.
• "_ga_M1MDYGT3FD" cookie (Google Analytics 4): lifetime about 13 months, keeps the analytics session state. Set only after consent.
• Consent choice: stored in the browser's local storage (key "drfaten_consent_v1"), not a cookie; keeps your decision to accept or decline analytics.

Manage your preferences

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie banner, or by configuring your browser to block or delete cookies.
